No...Yeah Vincent that's helpful but irrelevant. Noscript doesn't disable javascript, it protects you from malicious web applications (mostly and originally as scripts). There's a big difference.

I can disable some scripts but not others, or just block flash, or have scripting going in one tab and not another. It protects you against certain router hacks, many known and even unknown types of cross site scripting exploits, and even some foul web trackers.

MOST of noscript's functions have nothing to do with javascript itself and would still affect users with javascript turned off.

Even if you allow all javascript in noscript, it is still protecting you from other kinds of attacks and a great number of annoyances.

I'm sure you get the point.

Having said that... It's just an awareness drive. With a name like "noscript", it's easy to misunderstand.

Being able to disable javascript in google chrome is important (it's what I came here to look for) but that's not really related to the firefox extension NoScript, which these days largely deals in things which don't require javascript at all.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01522259494460794834noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8734577.post-21170974434729924092009-03-17T13:59:00.000-07:002009-03-17T13:59:00.000-07:00The limerick author is Alan Watts in his book "Bud...The limerick author is Alan Watts in his book "Buddhism. Here's why:

Registering a project to ask for CDs requires a cognitive failure on three different levels all at once:

* launchpad.net is not ubuntu.com. I'm not sure how you even end up at launchpad.net if you're looking to acquire ubuntu. None of the following google searches has a launchpad link in the top 5: "ubuntu", "ubuntu cds", "download ubuntu", or "download ubuntu cds".

* "Register a project" isn't that easy to find. I know because I just did it. Once you get there, it's the fifth item in a list, and "register a project" doesn't sound anything like "download ubuntu", although I can kind of see the word "register" might set off a bell for people who don't yet understand open source software.

* Registering a project requires you to fill out a BUNCH of stuff which looks nothing like a software registration form if you are reading the labels, and, how the hell can you fill out a form if you aren't reading the labels? I'm used to users not reading text on FAQ pages and instructions and such, users pretty much regard text on web pages as decoration. But you have to read a form to fill it out, don't you? How else would you know if you filled in what they asked for?

And in order for this to rise to the level where the above bullet is required.. this has to have happened many times.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16763371844879659730noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8734577.post-11698937596308159582008-12-04T13:32:00.000-08:002008-12-04T13:32:00.000-08:00Hi. Now, modify the desktop icon's properties. The command being run must start by /usr/bin/xulrunner instead of "/usr/lib/firefox-3.0.3/firefox" and it should work!
